Vadodara: Reports of 11 cases of lumpy skin disease (LSD) among bovines in Fatehpura taluka of Dahod district and the death of one cow from the disease have kept officials on their toes. The claims, however, could not be confirmed by officials of the animal husbandry department.
The death of a cow in Saraswa village in the taluka was being attributed to LSD even as animal husbandry department teams have been active in Dahod ever since the first LSD infection came to light in the district over a month ago.
An official said that there was no confirmation regarding the cases from Fatehpura. He added that teams were visiting villages from where such reports came to light.
According to official details, 72 LSD cases have been reported in the district from 34 different villages.
