BJP’s Panki MLA booked for abusing, heckling Manatu BDO

Ranchi/Daltonganj: An FIR was lodged against BJP’s Panki MLA Shashi Bhushan Mehta last Friday for allegedly heckling and abusing Manatu block development officer (BDO) Sunil Prakash over two months ago.
The incident is being seen through political lens as the BJP and the JMM-led coalition government in the state have been at loggerheads over a series of corruption and horse-trading charges against each other. Soon after the ED started raiding houses and offices of close aides of chief minister, the government okayed CID probe into former chief minister Raghubar Das’ role in hosting ‘Momentum Jharkhand’ during the BJP rule.
Twitter fight between BJP MP from Godda Nishikant Dubey on one hand and chief minister Hemant Soren and other JMM leaders on the other is an open secret.
Describing the FIR against the Panki MLA as another in the series, BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said, “If the BDO had lodged a complaint two months ago, why did the police not register an FIR back then? The complaint was baseless and fabricated. It is a well-planned and pre-medidated vendetta that has now been converted into an FIR to harass Mehta, who is a BJP MLA.”
