The Apple's 'Far Out' event which took place on Wednesday saw the Cupertino-based tech company launch several new products including iPhone 14 series.

But apart from the hardware, all eyes were also on iOS 16, which is scheduled to be made public from September 12.

One of the biggest specifications of iOS 16 is the 'Always-On display' feature, which is similar to the one Android has been using for ages now. However, only the Pro variants of iPhone 14 will come packed with iOS 16. The upcoming software update will also let users personalise their Lock Screen by showcasing their favourite photos and customise font styles.

The iOS 16 will also give users the option to choose the widgets they want to display on their screen.

Widgets on the Lock Screen let users glance at data like the weather, calendar events, date, time zones, battery level and more. With the new iOS 16, you can now create different Lock Screens for your iPhone, each consisting of a unique backdrop and style.

The new software update will let users easily switch between them. Meanwhile, the notifications on the Lock Screen on iOS 16 will appear as an expanded list, stacked view or hidden view.

Redesigning Apple's Future

Apple on Thursday put an end to all the speculations surrounding its devices as it finally unvieled the much-talked about iPhone 14 series to the world at 'Far Out' event which was held at Apple Inc's headquaters, Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

Apple finally launched the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones with an all-new redesigned notch at its front, bringing the first big display redesign since 2017.

Packed With The A16 Bionic Chip

The new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max sport the brand new faster A16 Bionic chip and an always-on display.

Both these new smartphones, which come in 6.1- and 6.7-inch options, have a new pill-shaped cutout.

Designed For Durability

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max comes in four new interesting colours - Space Blac, Silver, Gold and Deep Purple. Both the smartphones flaunt ceramic shield front textured matt glass back and stainless steel design. The new smartphones offer storage capacity of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Apple claims that the smartphones are designed for durability.

The iPhones are also designed from the ground up to protect your privacy and put you in control of what you share and who you share it with.

A16 Chip Uses 20 Per Cent Lower Power

The new A16 Bionic chip, which has a six-core CPU, housing two high-performance cores that use 20 per cent lower power and four efficiency cores in order to focus on power efficiency, display, and camera on the new iPhones.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro starts at Rs 1,29,900 for the 128GB model, Rs 1,39,900 for 256GB, Rs 1,59,900 for 512GB and Rs 1,79,900 for 1TB option.

Most Innovative Pro Line-up Yet

At the event 'Far Out', Apple CEO Tim Cook called the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max the "most innovative pro line-up yet".

All in all, the iPhone 14 Pro offers a lot more this year than the modest upgrades to the iPhone 13 Pro models last year, which moved to a 120Hz ProMotion high refresh rate display and three all-new cameras.

After the update, the notifications will start appearing at the bottom of the screen. Apple users will also get the option of now editing a text or unsending a recently sent message on iMessage. This isn't the only editing feature that iOS 16 comes packed with.

The operating system will soon allow users to edit out subjects from an image or isolate the subject by removing the background by clicking on the subject in the picture. The iPhone users will also get to pause a video on any frame that contains text and use interactions like copy, translate, look up, share and more.

The iOS 16 also packs interesting new features in the Health app such as Medications features. Users can now also use iPhone's motion sensors and maintain a fitness log.

Apple Watch Series 8

It was the first device to be launched at the ‘Far Out’ event. The new smartwatch from Apple has similarities with its predecessor - the Watch Series 7. Features such as crash detection, built-in temperature sensors, and ovulation tracking for women, make Apple Watch Series 8 unique.

Advanced Crash Detection on Apple Watch

The Apple Watch Series 8 comes with the advanced crash detection feature. According to Apple, the feature has been deployed with an intent to save lives by alerting authorities automatically. This can be particularly useful in instances where the user may have been impacted by a severe crash.

Apple Watch SE 2

Apple has also unveiled its second generation Watch SE. The new Watch SE sports a 30 per cent larger display and is reportedly 20 per cent faster. The new generation Watch SE also comes with crash detection.

Apple Watch Ultra

Apple Watch Ultra is made of Titanium which makes it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The Ultra comes with the biggest battery that offers up to 36 hours of regular use. On low power mode, the battery life can be extended up to 60 hours.
