Jaisalmer: The Ramdevra fair that began on August 29 concluded on Wednesday. More than 40,000 devotees from across the country visited for the darshan of samadhi. The fair was organised successfully due to better arrangements made by the district and police administration. Devotees did not have to stand in long queues. The decision to keep the temple premises open for 24 hours proved beneficial as no incident of stampede took place.
The fare was organised after a gap of two years due to which the devotees reached in a large number and even the shopkeepers in Ramdevra had an excellent business.
The electricity and health department was also on alert mode. Three additional SPs, 20 Dy SPs, 40 inspectors and more than 3,000 policemen were deployed who discharged their duty with alertness. 4,000 devotees of Sukhki Sangh offered a 251-metre-long flag on the samadhi and prayed for prosperity. This was the 40th Padyatra of the Sangh.
