VARANASI: Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti (ABSS) general secretary Swami Jitendranand Saraswati on Wednesday hailed
Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists for stopping Bollywood actors
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt from entering Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, stating that "temples are not picnic spots".
He warned the MP government that "if these workers are harassed by the police, it (government) should be ready to face the wrath of saints". Ranbir and Alia were stopped by the activists while entering the Mahakal temple citing Ranbir's past remark on beef-eating. The videos of police cane charging the protesters went viral. Both had gone to Ujjain to offer prayers ahead of the release of their film 'Brahmastra'. "VHP and BD workers did a good work by stopping 'beef-eater' Ranbir and Alia from entering the temple of the followers of Sanatan Dharma," said the seer.
