Nayanthara’s first-look from Jayam Mohan Raja’s Godfather as Sathyapriya Jaidev was released on Thursday.
Dressed in a crisp cotton saree, the actress can be seen seated at a table and looking pensive in the first-look. She also appears to be typing out a letter on a typewriter in the scene the poster captures. Godfather is the remake of Malayalam film Lucifer and Nayanthara will reprise Manju Warrier’s role from the original. Fans are excited to see her play the role and co-star with Chiranjeevi again after Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

The film which will hit screens on October 5 sees Chiranjeevi in the titular role. Bollywood star Salman Khan has been roped in to play Prithviraj Sukumaran’s character. The makers have made a few changes to the script to appease fans. The teaser which introduced Chiranjeevi reprising Mohanlal’s role got great response. Satya Dev and Puri Jagannadh also star in this thriller.

Master cinematographer Nirav Shah handles the camera, while Suresh Selvarajan is the art director. The makers have announced that the first single from the film, composed by Thaman S, will be released soon. It remains to be seen how the film will fare when it releases for Dasara, especially because it might face off Nagarjuna starrer The Ghost at the box office.
