GURUGRAM: GMDA is considering collaborating with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on a project to restore urban ecosystems in the city.
Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority officials said on Wednesday that UNDP has designed a project called ‘Srishti’, which will be funded by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
Envisioned for Gurugram and Bangalore for three years (2022-25), the goal is to restore urban ecosystems through mechanisms such as plantations within cities.
“ The project will be executed entirely by them, the GMDA will only facilitate the work in terms of giving them space or helping them coordinate with any other relevant agency, such as the MCG,” Subhash Chander Yadav, additional chief executive officer of the GMDA’s urban environment division, said on Wednesday.
