Prayagraj: Two unidentified men – one of them wearing burqa and another helmet- allegedly looted lakhs from the house of a trader dealing in fruit business after injuring him at Sabji Mandi Shahganj, under the limits of Shahganj area here on Wednesday morning.
SSP, Prayagraj, Shailesh Kumar Pandey told TOI, “Police have been probing the incident thoroughly and action would be initiated accordingly”. He, however, said, “The victim identified as Ansar, a resident of Shahganj told police that two scooty borne unidentified men entered his house, hit him with an iron rod and left injured”. He, however, managed to escape towards bathroom and locked it from inside. The miscreants allegedly looted cash kept inside a wardrobe and escaped unchallenged. Upon being alerted, senior police officials along with forensic experts and police forcesrushed the spot and carried out investigations. The victim is yet to submit application to local police station concerned to get FIR registered.
Injured: An unidentified ragpicker sustained serious injuries after he came in contact withan iron grill installed near transformer at Ghantaghar area under the limits of Kotwali police station on Wednesday morning. He was admitted at SRN hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
