New Delhi: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has accused the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government of not following official protocol and showing 'disrespect' towards a woman governor. Soundararajan was speaking at an event commemorating her three years at Raj Bhavan.

She recounted many recent episodes where the state government allegedly failed to follow protocol in accordance with her position as governor. She accused the state government of not allowing her to hoist the flag on the occasion of the nation's 75th Independence Day.

"The state will write history about how a woman governor was discriminated against. I was denied the governor's address and the hoisting of the flag on Republic Day, too. Even now, wherever I go, protocol isn't followed. Offices, if not individuals, should be respected," she said.

She also slammed the absence of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the recent southern zonal council meeting in Thiruvananthapuram wherein many issues concerning the state were taken up.

She was also repeatedly targeted on social media, she said, and TRS leaders - including the chief minister - had not visited the Raj Bhavan despite multiple invites, including on the Telugu new year.
