Mandya distgears up for Kumbh Mela

Mandya: District administration will celebrate Kumbh Mela from September 13- 16 at Triveni Sangam of Ambigarahalli in KR Pete taluk.
DC S Ashwathi on Tuesday held a meeting with the officers to review the preparation for the grand event.
Cauvery pooja will be held at the confluence of three rivers as part of the mela. A host of saints and dignitaries are likely to take part in the event besides devotees from other states. District administration is making all arrangements to provide basic facilities including drinking water and restroom facilities to the devotees participating in the mela.
Cultural programmes will be conducted by local and state-level artistes.
A special religious meeting of “Ganga Arati’‘ has been scheduled as part of the mela, the DC said.
