Classes affected by caste cert work, rue govt school teachers

Ranchi: Teachers of government schools said that classes are getting affected as they are stuck with making of caste certificates for students.
Talking to TOI, Nasim Ahmed, principal of Government Middle School, Bariatu, said, “The form consists of three pages and it takes time to fill all the details. In a single day, we are able to fill only seven to eight forms."
The procedure for making caste certificates in schools started on September 1 and the teachers have been asked to complete it by September 15.
Nagina Reshmi Kujur, assistant teacher of Government Middle School, Kokar, said, “It’s really very hectic as after filling the form, we have to wait for the parents’ signature which takes time. Already there are dearth of teachers in government schools and now they are stuck with caste certificate work apart from teaching the students. Many of the students are not from the state and they don’t have the documents issued here."
