Stalin was in for a pleasant surprise on his Tuticorin-bound flight when 41-year-old V Kausalya recited a speech she used to deliver as a Class IX student on the stages of political parties. A 41-year-old woman surprised chief minister M K Stalin inside a flight on Wednesday by delivering a speech she used to do as a school student on the stages of political parties.
V Kausalya, now a senior officer in a private bank, added a few lines praising Stalin at the end of her monologue, bringing a broad smile to his face. Pleasantly surprised, Stalin shook her hands and congratulated her. The whole episode lasted barely a minute but winning the appreciation of Stalin, including his response "super" made it the most memorable day for Kausalya.
Accompanied by DMK treasurer T R Baalu and ministers K K S S R Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu, Stalin was seated in the flight from Chennai to Tuticorin to participate in Congress leader
Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in Kanyakumari. Only after boarding the flight, Kausalya got to know that she was flying with the CM. She walked towards him and after introducing herself expressed her eagerness to recite the awareness speech she used to make on stages of political parties ahead of the respective leader's arrival, including late chief minister M Karunanidhi. Stalin readily gave the nod and Kausalya immediately delivered the short speech without batting an eyelid.
Kausalya told TOI that it was an awareness message on the need to vote. "I was a Class IX student when I used to give those speeches on stages in the Thousand Lights area (in Chennai)," she said.
As she was about to complete the speech, she also added a few words of praise for Stalin. Stalin keenly listened to the entire speech with a smile which broadened as Kausalya praised him.
Fellow passengers shot the entire episode on their mobile phones and the video was widely shared on the social media.
