Jaipur: Congress MLA Wajib Ali has demanded to revoke the suspension of Rajasthan Urdu Shishak Sangh state president Amin Kayamkhani who was suspended for creating a ruckus at a state-level function on Teachers’ Day on September 5 at the Birla auditorium in presence of education minister on the various demands of Urdu teachers. The education department suspended him on Monday.
In a letter to education minister B D Kalla, the Congress MLA from Nagar in Bharatpur district said he was only trying to draw the attention of the minister on various issues related to Urdu teachers. “He was not opposing the government, but trying to bring to your notice the condition of Urdu education in the state,” said the MLA.
Wajib Ali said the condition of Urdu education is very pathetic. Even after the chief minister's announcement in the budget for new recruitments, no new post or recruitments of Urdu teachers have been taken up.
Students were not even getting the books in schools wherever Urdu is being taught as a language. Ali said he was also getting innumerable memorandums highlighting these issues.
The MLA demanded that he should revoke his suspension and address the issues raised by Kayamkhani.
Kayamkhani, a Level-2 teacher posted in Jaipur, was not only suspended but was asked to report to the district education office in Banswara more than 500km from Jaipur as a punishment.
Kayamkhani said he was only protesting for the rights of students not for his personal interest. He had petitioned many including the ministers at their public hearing a the PCC earlier. TNN
