Lucknow: Women cops get power of smartphone

LUCKNOW: To strengthen beat policing, female constables in eastern police zone of Lucknow Commissionerate were handed over android enabled handsets on Wednesday.
DCP Prachi Singh said that for coordinating with police stations and making it on a sound footing such a step was required. "Now with android enabled handsets, these constables can engage with larger populace and also note down names of several citizen welfare societies and mohalla samities can be added. They can also get several suggestions to improve policing," she said.
Also, it will help them reach the place of dispute in less time, making policing more effective, she said.
