CHENNAI: A young couple from
West Bengal were found dead in a hotel room in Chennai’s Triplicane on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Prasenjith Ghosh, 23, and Arpita Pal, 20, of Bankura in West Bengal. They came to Chennai on September 3 for “sight-seeing.”
On Wednesday, the hotel staff smelt a pungent smell from the locked room. Based on the hotel manager's complaint, the Triplicane crime wing police led by inspector Kalaiselvi went to the spot. The police broke open the door and found the couple lying dead.
The woman's body was fully decomposed. Police suspect that the man smothered the woman and stayed with her body for a few days before killing himself.
The Triplicane police registered a case.
