MUMBAI: Reacting to a viral video in which an ambulance is seen stuck in traffic at Marol in Andheri (E) as Union home minister Amit Shah's convoy passes by on Sunday, the traffic police have confirmed that no patient was inside the ambulance. A citizen had shot the video and posted it on social media.
Traffic police said that the ambulance's siren was dysfunctional so it couldn't be turned off though it was not ferrying a patient. "We will record the statement of the ambulance driver which will make it clear that there was no patient inside," said a senior police officer.
Shah's two-day visit to Mumbai began on Sunday. Shah visited Lalbaugcha Raja pandal and inaugurated a school in Powai, besides holding meetings with chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. tnn
