Daltonganj: Palamu police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the murder of a retired employee of Bokaro Steel Limited, Dinesh Kumar Ram (73) with the arrest of three persons. The body was found with a slit throat at Larmee jungle on August 24 under Chhaterpur police station area. Police had established the identity of the deceased with the help of the Aadhaar card found on the body.
Palamu superintendent of police (SP) Chandan Kumar Sinha said, “This was a blind case with no eye witness. The deceased, a retired BSL employee, had returned to his native Rohtas home in Bihar after retirement. Our team began its probe from the angle of his retirement benefits, which he might have received. It turned out to be true.”
Police sources said the widower deceased left Rohtas after he had lost his grandson and son in quick succession. He returned to Bokaro in July 2022. Mithilesh Paswan, in whose house Dinesh stayed on rent, and his two sons Sonu Paswan and Abhimanyu Paswan eyed Dinesh’s fat bank balance. They siphoned off Rs 23 lakh from Dinesh’s bank account through internet banking. Fearing detection of the crime, they tempted him to remarry. They promised him to get introduced to a woman in Palamu, where they took him to kill him. “Abhimanyu Paswan and contract killers Santo Sharma and Imtiyaz Ansari were arrested. Mithilesh and Sonu are absconding. Mithilesh had hired the contract killers for Rs 5L,” the SP added. TNN
