Panaji: A North Goa court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to Edwin Nunes who was arrested in connection with the death of TikTok star and BJP functionary from Haryana Sonali Phogat.
One of the conditions include not visiting Curlies shack till filing of the chargesheet.
The court found “nothing to link the applicant with the present offence of supplying narcotic drugs to (Sonali) Phogat, Sudhir Pal and Sukhwinder on the day of the incident”.
“There is no material on record to show that the applicant had knowledge of such psychotropic substance being used on his premises. There is also no material on record at this stage to show that the applicant has knowingly permitted the use of Curlies shack/restaurant for the commission of an offence punishable under the NDPS Act,” stated additional sessions judge FTC, North Goa, Sharmila A Patil.
The court added that there was nothing on record to show he was managing affairs of the shack or that he abetted or was party to a criminal conspiracy along with Sonali Phogat, Sudhir Pal and Sukhwinder Singh.
“On the contrary, the investigating papers suggest that the applicant was not known to these three persons,” the court added.
