Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:00AM

Hindustan Foods(up 7.29%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 4.18%), Parag Milk(up 3.83%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 2.04%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.79%), Nakoda Group(up 1.79%), Gillette India(up 1.48%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.33%), Britannia Industries(up 1.14%) and Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.98%) were among the top gainers.

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 1.13%), Varun Beverages(down 0.74%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.63%), DFM Foods(down 0.37%), Zydus Wellness(down 0.29%), Umang Dairies(down 0.08%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.08%), Dabur India(down 0.07%) and Prataap Snacks(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 108.85 points down at 17546.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 380.53 points at 58816.46 at around 11:00AM.

Shree Cement(up 5.75%), UltraTech Cement(up 3.49%), Coal India(up 1.33%), Britannia Industries(up 1.14%), Nestle India(up 0.74%), Grasim Industries(up 0.46%), UPL Ltd(up 0.32%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.31%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.16%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.09%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 2.0%), Tata Motors(down 1.93%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.79%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.53%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.5%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.47%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.38%), Enterprises(down 1.31%), HCL Technologies(down 1.26%) and Larsen & Toubro(down 1.13%) were trading in the red.
