4 children injured in acid attack, one arrested

Dumka: Five children sustained minor injuries in an acid attack after a dispute at a jewellery shop in Bhanjpur village under Mahgama police station of Godda district on Monday evening.
Police have arrested one person identified as Prakash Sah, who runs a jewellery shop, for allegedly throwing a bottle of acid on one Afroza Khatoon. Four children who were with Khtatoon and standing nearby also sustained minor burn injuries. Godda SP Nathu Singh Meena said, “There was a brawl between a few children and when their parents intervened, it got escalated and Sah threw an acid bottle. The injuries are very minor as the bottle has very little amount of diluted acid commonly used by goldsmiths to clean ornaments. The accused was arrested.”
