With an eye on the 2024 general election, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched the party's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Kanyakumari today.

The 3,570 kilometre-long-yatra will be covered in nearly 150 days from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Congress had classified 119 leaders, including Rahul Gandhi as 'Bharat Yatris'. The participants plan to walk around 22 to 23 km daily.

The sources further said that Rahul Gandhi considers the Bharat Jodo Yatra journey as a way to connect with the common people.

He will be staying in a container - which will have a bed, toilet and an air conditioner. Containers have been set up for other 'Bharat Yatris' as well.
