Guwahati: An MoU was signed between the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) and Indian Hotel Company Limited (IHCL) here on Monday for the construction of a luxury Ginger brand hotel near Manas National Park, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
According to the MoU signed in the presence of state tourism minister Jayanta Mallabaruah and Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive officer Pramod Boro, the ATDC will grant long-term leases in favor of IHCL, which will construct the hotel by itself or through a partner or investor.
“The hotel will benefit tourists visiting Manas National Park and the BTR region of Assam. There was a time when the atmosphere was not conducive to set up high-end hotels but in today’s context, well-known groups are coming forward to sign MoUs in Assam, which is a matter of great pride,” the tourism minister said.
He added that Monday’s MoU will enable every tourist to have an enjoyable and comfortable experience in the Manas National Park.
