KOPPAL: Two audio clips, in which Kanakagiri MLA Basavaraj Dadesugur has spoken about returning Rs 15 lakh which he had allegedly accepted for providing a police sub inspector's job, has gone viral on social media. Dadesugur has admitted that it's his voice in the clips but claimed he had said so to settle a quarrel between two individuals.
In the audio clips, a person named Parasappa introduces himself as the father of a PSI candidate and requests the MLA to return Rs 15 lakh that was given to him get the job for his son. Dadesugur replies he has given the money to the 'government' and that it will take some time to get it back. When Parasappa says it's already one and half year, the MLA gets angry and tells him not to make lose talk.
In the audio clip, Parasappa has mentioned the name of Koppal district BJP president Doddanagouda Patil. Patil has clarified that he had suggested the MLA to return the money to Parasappa. "I don't know the intention of the cash transaction. But Parasappa had sought my help to get his amount back and I had spoken Dadesuguru about it. These audio clips have caused embarrassment to the party in the district," he said.
Patil said he will inform the party high command about the incident.
