PRAYAGRAJ: A glittering function was organized at the Vizianagram Hall of Allahabad University to celebrate the Teacher’s Day on Monday evening.
Presided by the vice chancellor Sangita Srivastava, AU felicitated two of its eminent retired faculty members Prof Manmohan Krishna and Prof LDS Yadav. The two distinguished guest of honour were presented with shawls and mementos.
Speaking on the occasion AU VC Prof Sangita Srivastava said that the teacher is the builder of the nation. Scholarly and loving behavior towards students is what makes a teacher great. Recalling the old teachers of AU, Prof Manmohan Krishna said that even when we (AU) had less resources, many teachers did world class work. He said that if there is a passion to work and the passion to achieve the goal, then the mountain also gives way.
On this occasion Prof LDS Yadav said that he has also worked for a short time in many foreign universities, but the attachment he has with AU is not with any other university.
The program also saw the launch of the book of short stories entitled: A Tryst with Emotions written by Prof Syed Ibrahim Rizvi of the department of Biochemistry. The VC said that Prof Rizvi’s short stories are very realistic, and one gets the feeling that he is narrating a true story.
During the program, University Registrar Prof Narendra Kumar Shukla, Dean College Development Prof Pankaj Kumar, proctor Prof Harsh Kumar and many other teaching faculty were present.
