2 more dengue cases reported in district

Prayagraj: Two new cases of dengue were reported from Meja block in trans-Yamuna pocket of the district here on Monday. With this, the Sangam City reported a total 18 dengue cases and 16 of them have already recovered. District Malaria Officer (Prayagraj) Anand Kumar Singh told reporters that two new cases of dengue including a 18-year-old youth from Etawa Khurd Khiri and 39-year-old man from Gosaura Khurd villages on Monday. He further added there are only two active cases while 16 others have recovered so far. Ironically, majority of dengue cases were reported in city areas compared to trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna pockets in this season. He further added health teams were taking up a series of awareness campaign in city, trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna pockets of the district among residents to take preventive measures. Besides, anti-larva spraying exercise has also been intensified in several parts of the city including flood affected colonies and other low-lying areas. TNN
