NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

Dvpt Corporation(up 6.68%), KIOCL(up 1.54%) and Coal India(up 0.47%) stood among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 3.54%), Ashapura Minechem(down 2.03%), Oriental Trimex(down 1.25%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.16%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.10%), Pokarna(down 1.04%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.95%), 20 Microns(down 0.94%), MOIL(down 0.42%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.41%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 10.2 points down at 17655.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 48.99 points at 59196.99.

Enterprises(up 3.1%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.82%), NTPC(up 2.4%), Shree Cement(up 1.69%), Tata Steel(up 1.59%), Cipla(up 1.48%), SBI Life(up 1.39%), Reliance Industries(up 1.05%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.86%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.74%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv(down 2.34%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.29%), Britannia Industries(down 1.47%), UPL Ltd(down 1.17%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.15%), Nestle India(down 1.13%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.07%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.07%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.06%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.97%) closed in the red.
