2 men die of electric shock

Ludhiana: Two men died of electrocution in the city.
In the first incident, Deepu Gupta, 24, of Sherpur Kalan was electrocuted when he was turning off the switch of a water filter at his house on Sunday night. He was rushed to a hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Moti Nagar ASI Sahib Kumar said Deepu was an employee of a private firm. His autopsy was conducted on Monday, following which the police proceeded with Section 174 of the CrPC.
In the second incident, a factory worker was electrocuted while operating a machine on Monday. The victim has been identified as Bittu Parkash, 32, of Madhopuri. ASI Gurwinder Singh said Bittu lived with his brother in a rented accommodation in Ludhiana. On Monday morning, he had gone to the factory where, while operating a machine, he received an electric shock. He was rushed to a hospital, but could not be saved. The police proceeded with Section 174 of the CrPC following the statement of his brother.
