Rajasthan: 98 educators felicitated on Teachers' Day

JAIPUR: On Teachers' Day on Monday, 98 teachers along with education officers from across Rajasthan were felicitated at a state-level ceremony held at the Birla Auditorium.
For the first time, instead of individual felicitation, teachers were given mementos in advance and only group pictures were clicked with ministers and officials.
BD Kalla, cabinet minister for department of education hile speaking on the occasion said, "The role of teachers is very important. Rajasthan has been doing very well in learning indices in the country, but we must make sure that we maintain this position. That can happen with the hard work of teachers."
Zahida Khan, minister of state for education said, "A lot is already being done to improve quality of education in the state, but we still need to focus more on education of the girl child."
Meanwhile, some of the teachers were upset that individual felicitation were not done. Reacting to this, the minister said, "There are time constraints and individual felicitation takes a lot of time. I gave individual attention to every teacher who was felicitated and spoke to them during the group photo."
Urdu teacher raises question on unfulfilled budget announcement
During the education minister's speech, Ameen Kayamkhani, president of Rajasthan Urdu Shikshak Sangh; raised his voice over budget announcement from 2021-22 regarding hiring teachers for Urdu in primary schools with even 20 enrolments for the language, not being fulfilled.
While Kalla was talking about CM's efforts to improve quality of education, Kayamkhani shouted, "What about the budget announcements from last year? The government is neglecting education of Urdu language." Kayamkhani was taken outside the auditorium by officials.
When asked about the allegation, Kalla said, "We will talk to the officials concerned on this and solve the issue. I will check all the details with the department officials and why hiring has not been done."
