Noida: Preparations for staging Ramlilas have begun across Gautam Budh Nagar, following all Covid-safety protocols. Along with the effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakaran and Meghnath, small symbolic effigies of coronavirus, domestic violence and terrorism are part of this year’s Ramlila.
Artistes from Moradabad, Bikaner and Jodhpur will perform across the four major Ramlilas in GB Nagar — at Ramlila ground in Noida Stadium Sector 21A, which is the oldest, in Sector 62, at Accher in Sector Pi and at Site 4 Central Park in Greater Noida — from September 26 to October 6.
“We will hold a grand Ramlila celebration in C block Sector 62. We will have a double-storey stage. Our seating capacity is 5,000 and since the Ramlila will continue for 11 days from September 26 to October 6, a day after Dussehra with Bharat Milap, we expect nearly one lakh people towards the close of the festivities,” said Munna Kumar Sharma, president of Shri Ram Mitra Mandal Noida Ramlila Committee, the organiser.
The Shri Ramlila Committee (SRC) at Site 4 Central Park in Greater Noida, which has been conducting Ramlila since 2006, is touted as the biggest stage in NCR, about 200ft in length across three floors and about 60-70ft in width. “Our three-floor stage construction work has begun. It’s the biggest stage in NCR. We have Swachh Bharat theme effigies,” said Manjit Singh, president of SRC.
Meanwhile, the Shri Sanatan Dharm Ramlila Committee (SSDRC), which is the oldest in the district (over 30 years), will conduct the traditional Ramlila at Noida Stadium in Sector 21A.
