Amazon Prime Video released the much-awaited spin-off to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Called the Rings of Power, season one of the series is now streaming on Prime Video. However, as it turns out, world's richest person Elon Musk is not too impressed with the show. Musk has criticized the show and has left his scathing review on Twitter.

What did Elon Musk say?

Musk claimed that scholar J. R. R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings, might be turning in his grave after watching the series. He added that most of the characters in the series are cowards, jerks, or both, except Galadriel, who is shown to be brave, pleasant, and smart.

How did other viewers react?
Many viewers have been impressed by the cinematic beauty captured in the series, which is usually visible in high-budget blockbusters. Others, however, have slammed the show calling it nonsensical and a bad take on political correctness.

Responding to Musk's statement on Twitter, a user wrote that the series was Wokein rather than Tolkien. Another user commented that makers should not pick people who have not read the books to make the adaptations.

The book features illustrations by Alan Lee, who won an Academy Award for his work on Peter Jackson's film trilogy.

There were other users, too, who negated Musk's view of the show's characters. One user pointed out that Elrond, the Elvish warrior, was neither a jerk nor a coward. He also suggested that haters were being racist.

Another fan commented that the negative review was nonsensical since he enjoyed the show. He stated that the makers took liberties since the story rights were limited. However, the story was good; others should not jump on the anti-woke bandwagon.

The show's reviews, however, have bombed its rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where it scores 39%. However, the critics' score has added up to 84%, making the Rotten Tomatoes rating look fishy.

What are the Rings of Power?

The Rings of Power is from the LOTR universe. It is set 1000 years before the movies and is based on JRR Tolkien's fantasy books that were penned during the Second World War. Amazon Prime Video has called the show an epic drama set a millennium before LOTR and The Hobbit. The show would take viewers on a journey to an era when the rings were forged.
