Thane: Wading into the issue of inadequate locals to and from Thane suburbs, AAP has threatened a peaceful protest to ensure more facilities for Mumbra commuters. “Mumbra has seen a rise in passengers, but the facilities are inadequate. The volume of services has been reduced as previously there were 18 semi-fast trains halting here during peak hours of which barely 10 are available now,” it said. The railways said it was open to resolving issues through dialogue. “We added 36 services after commissioning the 5th and 6th lines between Thane and Diva. The corridor separation of mail, freight and suburban services led to smooth operations. The shutting of the Diva level crossing gate will improve punctuality,” it said. — Manoj Badgeri
