3 minors detained for raping teenager in Ranchi

RANCHI: Police detained three minor boys on Saturday for repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl in April this year. The incident happened at a place in Ranchi district.
The matter came to light on Saturday and the minor boys, aged 13, 14 and 16, were detained immediately and forwarded to a remand home on Sunday.
The police station officer-in-charge of the incident site, said the three boys had forcibly taken the girl to a dobha (water body) at the backside of her home and committed the crime. She added that a few days later, two of them again committed the crime in an under-construction building.
The officer further said, “The girl, however, did not inform her parents about the incident. Her parents who learnt about it after a month chose to keep quiet to avoid social stigma. The police came to know about the incident when a dispute concerning the families was reported to the police station.”
