ReutersNEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Alkem Laboratories(up 1.91 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.73 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.26 per cent), Cipla(up 0.99 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(up 0.99 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Gland Pharma(down 3.64 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.26 per cent), Laurus(down 1.09 per cent), Biocon(down 0.95 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 0.61 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.47 per cent up at 12565.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 126.35 points at 17665.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 442.65 points at 59245.98.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of , JP Power, , YES Bank and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of , Celebrity Fash, Jai Corp, and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., , , Bombay Rayon and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
