MOTIHARI: Unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals looted Rs 8.86 lakh cash and gold and silver ornaments in two separate incidents of loot at Piprakothi and Chhoradano police station areas in the last 24 hours in East Champaran district.
Panic prevails among the trader community in the district following the incidnts.
According to reports, three unidentified persons riding on a motorcycle intercepted Amod Paswan, a collection agent of Radha Refinery firm of Motihari at Kathnautiya bridge on Chhoradano-Motihari road under the Chhoradano police station area on Saturday evening and looted his motorcycle along with a bag containing Rs 8,86,000 cash at gunpoint. Paswan was also mercilessly thrashed by the miscreants.
Paswan informed his firm owner and lodged a complaint regarding the loot.
