Ranchi: The Opposition BJP on Saturday launched a fresh attack on the Hemant Soren government for keeping mum over illegal activities by Bangladeshi infiltrators, appeasement politics and failing to safeguard the rights of tribals, dalits and other sections of society as evident from the recent spree of crimes.
State party president Deepak Prakash said, “In Dumka, yet another minor adivasi girl has been abused and killed by a member of the minority community. Two days back, another school student was burnt by her stalker who also happens to from the minority community. Another case of minor abuse surfaced in Ranchi, again by a member of the same community.”
He added that ever since the Soren government came to power in 2019, infiltration by Bangladeshis have increased in the state. “Sleeper cells of anti-social and terrorist elements are slowly getting activated. The infiltrators are preying upon poor adivasis, dalits through ‘love jihad’ and forcing them to convert,” said Prakash.
Referring to his visit to Murumatu village in Pandu block in Palamu on Friday after reports of mass displacement of maha-dalit community allegedly by local minority groups, he said, “They (maha-dalit) have been living there for over a century but they were suddenly evicted from their homes and shanties by intimidation. The government remained mum. We demand strict action against the culprits. Currently they are being foced to live in dilapidated government buildings after losing their homes. What was their fault? Just because they were maha-dalits? This government has completely exposed itself. It cannot safeguard tribals, dalits and the poor in their own land just because of appeasement politics.” BJP’s MP from Godda, Nishikant Dubey has been demanding an NIA probe into infiltration in Jharkhand.
