UP: Man harasses woman on train, arrested

VARANASI: The Government Railway Police (GRP), Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction of Chandauli district arrested one Anil Acharya of Delhi from B-I coach of 12314 New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express for sexually harassing a woman passenger in an inebriated state.
Inspector GRP PDDU Junction Suresh Kumar Singh said that on being alerted by the woman passenger over helpline number, teams of GRP and Meri Saheli team of RPF reached the platform before the train arrived at 1.30 am. Acharya was caught from his berth in B-1 coach of the train and he was arrested after receiving a written complaint from the woman passenger, he added.
The 53-year-old woman passenger from Kolkata reported that she was travelling from New Delhi. When the train was crossing Kanpur Acharya started her sexual harassment in inebriated state, she alleged adding, despite opposing his bid he continued his activities.
