Hisar: The family members of BJP leader and ex-Big Boss contestant Sonali Phogat on Saturday wrote a letter to Chief Justice of India Uday Umesh Lalit demanding a CBI probe into her murder.
A petition seeking CBI probe will also be filed in the Punjab and Haryana high court on September 6, they said. Phogat’s daughter Yashodhara had earlier met chief minister Manohar Lal in Chandigarh along with other family members demanding CBI investigation. Afterwards, Khattar had also written a letter to Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant.
The Goa government had given statements related to sending the confidential status report related to the murder case of Sonali Phogat to the chief minister of Haryana and the director general of police (DGP).
Sonali Phogat’s nephew Moninder Phogat said they would file a petition in the high court seeking a CBI investigation.
Moninder’s advocate Vikas Choudhary said that a letter was written to the Chief Justice of India in this regard on Saturday. A petition will also be filed in the high court on Tuesday, he added.
Meanwhile, Goa police on Saturday went to the branch of Bandhan Bank in Hisar and summoned details of the bank account of Sudhir Sangwan, the accused in the case. Sources said Goa police possibly visited Sangwan’s office and house in Rohtak for investigation. Earlier, Goa police had taken documents related to Sonali Phogat’s property from Hisar tehsil office. Apart from this, Goa police had also searched Sonali Phogat’s house in Sant Nagar and farmhouse in Dhandur village and taken some papers in possession.
