Daltonganj: Three bike-borne armed miscreants robbed an assistant loco pilot when he was on his way to Barwadeeh railway junction around 11.35pm on Friday night. They took away his mobile phone and handbag containing Rs 600, ATM, PAN, Aadhaar card and other documents.
“I was barely 250 meters away from the railway platform when I was accosted by the miscreants. One of them trained a country-made pistol at my temple, while another started searching for my mobile and cash. The third one hit me on the head with some blunt object and I started bleeding profusely,” said Ravinder Kumar (34), the assistant loco pilot.
Kumar sustained 12 stitches in the head and three in an ear lobe at the Barwadeeh-based railway hospital.
An FIR was lodged on Saturday but no one has been arrested yet.
Barwadeeh SDPO Dillu Lohra said, “Police have been directed to probe the case on priority.”
