COIMBATORE: The city police have warned of strict action against the pranksters and their YouTube channels if they were to disturb people going for a walk, college students and young women at Race Course, parks and schools.
In a press note, police said on Saturday that some YouTubers were recording prank videos in public places and uploading the same on their channels. “They are creating uncomfortable situations for the public and posing a threat to the people’s privacy. Some pranksters touch the opposite genders in public places and record their act. They then publish the videos without getting permission from the people featured in the same. This is against the freedom of individuals.” Police said the pranksters would be booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act and a few more special acts.”
