Bhubaneswar: The special Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)-2022 for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) technical and professional courses began on Saturday with 28,620 students having applied for the three-day exam.
The exam was conducted at 38 centres in 28 cities of Odisha and one centre each in Kolkata, Ranchi and Patna. On Saturday, examinations were conducted for MBA and lateral entry to BTech (diploma).
“The first day of the exam passed off smoothly. Tests for MBA courses were conducted in the first and second shifts. Around 76.5% students who had applied for the special OJEE took the exam. Similarly, lateral entry to BTech (diploma) was conducted in third and fourth shifts with 81.5% in attendance,” said an OJEE source. Students entered the examination centres by wearing masks. Seating arrangements were done by following Covid-appropriate behaviour, the source added.
The ranks of special OJEE will be used for allotment of seats left vacant after first phase of counselling. “Candidates, who have appeared and have got ranks in JEE Main ( BTech) or OJEE (other courses), are not required to appear for the special OJEE,” said OJEE chairman S K Chand.
