Jaipur: A couple of days after Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot slammed the PWD officials and engineers for becoming business partners of contractors, minister Bhajanlal Jatav on Saturday told TOI that two teams have been formed by the department to investigate the role of officers and contractors for poor condition of roads in the state.
“We We will not compromise with the quality of roads. We have formed two teams to investigate and collect samples of road construction from places where we receive complaints. One team has been formed under the chairmanship of the additional chief engineer and the other will be headed by a superintendent engineer,” Jatav told TOI. “Action will be taken against officers compromising with the quality of roads. Corrupt officers and contractors will not be spared at any cost,” he added.
“Four vigilance teams have been formed to monitor the quality of roads. Once an environment of fear is created there will be improvement in work,” said Jatav. TNN
