The Chennai Super Kings(CSK) Chief Executive Officer(CEO) has confirmed today that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will continue as Chennai IPL's and there is no plan to change the captain of the team.
Chennai Super Kings has been the most successful team in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). Chennai have won the titles four times in the past under Dhoni, and the last one in 2021. They have been runners-up at three times as well.
Dhoni had handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja before the start of IPL season this year. But the team did not do well under the new captain as CSK lost six out of their eight matches.
But, Jadeja handed overs the captaincy back to Dhoni, as the team did not do well under the new captain. CSK lost six out of their eight matches in IPL 2022. Dhoni took back the captaincy for the remainder of the season.
It is important to note that Dhoni will be close to 42 by the next IPL. He will be the oldest player in the tournament.
