GAYA: Pilgrims reaching Gaya during the fortnight-long Pitripaksha Mela will get the facility of ring bus service for movement on different routes.
The district level committee headed by district transport officer (DTO) Vikas Kumar, formed to ensure traffic and transportation arrangements for the pilgrims, has arranged around 100 buses, including 15 CNG-run, which will ply on routes like Gaya railway station to Vishnupad, Vishnupad to Pretshila, Vishnupad to Bodh Gaya and Gandhi Maidan to Vishnupad from 5am to 9pm.
The district administration, in collaboration with Bihar State Road Transport Corporation and the tourism department, has arranged the buses for the mela period from September 9 to 25.
Apart from this, as many as 50 e-rickshaws would also be available for free to ferry elderly and the disabled pilgrims up to Vishnupad temple. The e-rickshaws would ply from Bengali Ashram to Vishnupad temple.
