HYDERABAD: CPI national general secretary D Raja on Sunday said India is not safe in the hands of the BJP and called upon the democratic and secular parties at the national and regional level to join hands to defeat the anti BJP in 2024-Lok Sabha elections and protect the constitution, democracy and federal system.
He was speaking at the public meeting organised in connection with the three-day CPI state conference which started here on Sunday and appreciated that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was opposing the BJP government and trying to bring together anti-BJP forces at the national level.
“The
communist party had led a remarkable fight against the autocratic Nizams rule in erstwhile Hyderabad state. The BJP and RSS had no role in the fight against the Nizam rule. They want to take credit for it by misleading the people by organising Telangana liberation day celebrations. The Modi-led government will go down as the most disastrous in the history of India. The country has been plunged into an economic crisis due to the wrong policies of the BJP government,” he said..
All the framers of the Constitution including Ambedkar had clearly stated that India is a secular country. However, attempts are being made to replace the Constitution with right-wing ideology. In the recent ‘Dharm sansad’ held in Varanasi, they demanded replacement of the Constitution with Manusmriti and make Varanasi the capital of the country. Neither Prime Minister Modi nor other BJP leaders have condemned it,” he added.
CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said the sacrifices made by the communists were priceless in the armed struggle of the peasants against the Nizam rule. “Attacks on Muslims and Dalits have increased and the Modi government using ED, IT and CBI against the opposition,” he said and added the CPI will fight against the divisive politics of the BJP.
