Mandovi accident: Navy divers help locate body

Panaji: Indian Navy’s clearance dive team was back in action when they were asked by Goa police to help them find the body of a biker who fell into the Mandovi. A team of six naval divers from the Clearance Diving Unit of Goa Naval Area was involved in locating the body of the 21-year-old youth.
The team of divers had been searching for the body of Muhammad Nazim Aga for two days and their efforts finally paid off on Friday.
“Diving assistance was sought by the police department of Panaji on September 1 for the accident and drowning of Aga. Goa Naval Area deputed a team of six divers on Thursday evening and continued the search till early morning of Friday. The body was recovered and handed over to the police,” the Navy said in a statement.
Navy divers found Aga’s body near one of the off-shore casinos.
