City reports 119 new Covid cases; +vity rate 3.2%

Gurgaon: The city reported 119 new Covid cases on Friday, a slight increase from the previous day when 108 new cases were recorded. The test positivity rate increased to 3.2% from 2.9% on Thursday.
The city at present has 458 active cases, out of which 16 people are hospitalised. The health department officials said 3,761 people have been tested in the last 24 hours. Moreover, a total of 136 recoveries were also reported.
“There is a constant decline in the number of cases. We have however maintained our testing and are testing more than 3,500 people every day,” said Virender Yadav, chief medical officer.
Gurgaon vaccinated 1,827 people on Friday of whom 1,559 people received their booster doses, 73 got their first doses and 195 got their second doses.
Haryana, meanwhile, logged 226 new cases of Covid. The highest number of cases were reported in Gurgaon, followed by Panchkula (15) and Faridabad (14). According to the health bulletin, the test positivity rate in Haryana is 1.9% and the number of active cases is now 1,078. A total of 11,880 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the state.
