Telangana: Bus in Nalgonda turns inferno, passengers safe

HYDERABAD: Nearly 30 people who were travelling in a passenger bus had a narrow escape after the bus caught fire at Chityal in Nalgonda district on Friday.
Chityal police said that the incident took place after a tyre of the moving bus suddenly got punctured. Within no time, the tyre caught fire. The alert bus driver applied brakes on seeing the burning deflated tyre.
"He immediately, parked the bus to the side of the road and alerted all the passengers to quickly disembark," police said.
All the passengers got down and their luggage was removed before the fire spread to other parts of the bus. In some time, the whole bus was up in flames. By the time, a fire tender reached the spot, the bus was completely burnt. One fire tender was used to douse the burning fire. Passersby on seeing the burning bus, videographed it. The incident took place at 1.30am on Friday.
