Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan held discussions with Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin here on Friday evening.
Vijayan met the Stalin on the sidelines of the southern zonal council meeting to be held here on Saturday. Both chief ministers interacted on various projects that are of mutual interest to both states. Taking discussions to the next level, the chief secretaries of both states will hold talks after which there would be discussions at the level of the concerned ministers from both states.
TN IT minister Mano Thangaraj commended the state's IT-based development strategy and said that a high-level team will be sent to the state to study about the developments in the sector, including the functioning of Digital University and education. Water sharing between both states and matters concerning Mullaperiyar were also discussed in the meeting, it is learnt. Vijayan's meeting with Stalin was held at Kovalam Palace, known as Halcyon Palace, that was once the property of the Travancore royal family, and presently in the possession of a private hotel where the council meeting is being held.
