Gurugram: Woman (70) 'jumps' from 11th floor, dies

GURUGRAM: A 70-year-old woman fell to death from her 11th-floor flat in a group housing society in Sector 58 on Friday. Police said it appears that she committed suicide as she was suffering from depression. No suicide note, however, has been found.
Rajender Kaur was staying with her daughter in a flat on the 11th floor of tower-B of Ireo Grand Arch. Kaur is survived by two daughters. .
Kaur separated from her husband around 18 years ago and was staying with her daughter. Because of this, she was disturbed and under depression, police said. Her second daughter is in Sri Lanka.
On Thursday, Kaur allegedly placed a small table on the balcony. She climbed on the table and used it to jump from the balcony, while the family members were inside, cops said.
Hearing a loud thud, guards rushed to the spot and found the body. They alerted her family and police. She was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. "We have not received a complaint. Police have recorded the statement of family members," police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
