GURUGRAM: There seems to be no end to the woes of the residents of Pivotal Devaan in Sector 84 as they have been living without electricity since the early hours of Friday because of a fault in the current transformer (CT) of the society's internal transmission network.
Later in the night, a group of residents went to the residence of the deputy commissioner and demanded action against the developer and a permanent power connection to the society.
Just a day before, the developer embarked on a power rotation plan, restricting the use of diesel gensets to running lifts and water pumps. Under the new plan, power will be supplied to each tower of the society for 12 hours a day, with an interval of two hours, from the 100 kW load granted by the discom to the developer for construction purposes. There are 848 flats across eight towers of the housing society in which 550 families are residing.
Sangeet Sharma, RWA president of the society, said that they were having sleepless nights because of the "callous attitude" of the developer. "It was the developer who chalked out the power rotation plan. And here we are without power since 2.45am in the morning. In July too, we faced more than 72 hours of continuous outage due to a similar fault in CT."
Devender Gupta, director of Pivotal Infrastructure, said, "We have already informed the electricity department about the fault and it will be rectified soon."
Rahul Sangwan, executive engineer of DHBVN, said, "Since the society only has a temporary connection, we have directed the developer to fulfill all compliances to get a permanent connection."
